BIC (British Instantaneous) (F)
BIC or British Instantanious Couplings are generally designed to BS336, and are therefore suitable for a 15 bar (1500kPa) operating pressure. Most items are manufactured in either aluminium or gunmetal and different finishes such as polishing, anodising and chrome plating are available. Fire & Safety Solutions (Int) Pty Ltd supply Alloy & Gunmetal BIC. Where pressure retention is not required, blank caps and plugs are offered in PVC or Acetal. British standard BS 336 specifies a 2½" (65mm) instantaneous connection.
