Wheeled or “mobile” fire extinguishers are normally used for applications where a substantial amount of fire extinguishing agent is required.
The more common of these types of wheeled fire extinguisher are:
Dry Chemical Powder (DCP)
Agents could vary from BE, ABE to high performance powders.
Capacities range from 25 kgs of agent and upwards.
Carbon Dioxide (CO2)
Capacities range from 22 kgs upward.
Foam
Agent would normally be AFFF or ATC Capacities range from 25 litres upward
Mobile fire extinguishers are manufactured in accordance with the requirements of Australian Standards 4265-1995.
It is a requirement that the unit can be operated by one person and, in the case of DCP and Foam units could be either gas container or stored pressure types
